From the ground of a small plot of land that exists next to the Fonte de São Marcos, originally stood a house that served to support the small agricultural activity that was being developed by grandfather Filipe during his stays in the village. The agricultural implements were kept there and there was also a mill in which, over many years, the grapes harvested on the same land were trodden to produce “homemade wine”.
A special place for the Mendes family, guardian of many good memories.
It was necessary to do something. Give new life to this space. Make him reborn. And so, in 2019 we started the process of renovating the house, which was completed in 2020. We kept the built-up area intact, providing the house with the necessary amenities for happy stays.
Outside, in its surroundings, with the magic of nature that presents us with different scenarios according to the different seasons, we kept some fruit trees that we framed in the leisure space.
The remaining land continues to be cultivated, and thus, in each season, it still presents us with loquats, figs, grapes, apples, pomegranates and quinces.

We feel at home
After last year's stay at Casa do Chão do Ribeiro, we saw this Casa do Chão do Cruzeira still in the finishing stage, and we immediately began to imagine our stay in this beautiful and tasteful space. It far exceeded our best expectations. The hospitality was, as always, impeccable and we felt at home!
Thank you so much Susana and Henrique for everything and for allowing us to enjoy this paradise! Let's hope you continue to build your dreams and that soon, who knows(?), we can enjoy another space...

Happiness is felt in the details of life, the 5 senses that give us the privilege of listening to the birds singing, seeing the starry sky as if it were a movie before our eyes, breathing the tranquility of each dawn, feeling the breeze of the serra and taste the gastronomic culture inherited from other generations.
We are grateful for the whole experience of this peculiar place, the kind reception, the care of the people of the land, for the beautiful places discovered. Here we were happy. Thank you for everything!
